Great place to hang out
Aerrigad, Hilliard

I love this property because it has actual bed space to sleep the number of people that it claims to, and has a common area big enough for us all to eat and play games together. If there are issues, they are very easy to work with and very quick to respond. This is our 3rd year in a row there, and we still love it. The only real complaint is that the beds were very uncomfortable, but new mattresses would fix that right up.

Sandy Run cabin

Review Posted: Jan 3    Date of Visit: December
We really enjoyed the cabin and the beautiful scenery. Our only negatives were, we wished the cabin was further from the street and that the front entry way was a little bigger. Trying to get in and be mindful of not bringing in snow and mulch was a little challenging. Also we did not sleep in the master bedroom after the first night but chose to sleep on the sofas. The bed was very noisy and not comfortable at all. We were very impressed with how warm the cabin stayed in spite of the plunging temperatures. The bathroom was clean but needed some updating. The staff was very professional when we checked in to get our key and the cabin was ready when we got there at 2:15, so we didn't have to wait until 3:00.

We had so much fun here! The cabin was beautiful and the hot tub amazing. Especially after a day of hiking. We had a great surprise when the owner stopped by to check the hot tub (due to the extreme cold temperatures outside) and told us they owned the woods and we could explore. We found some cool caves and gorgeous sites. The only issue we had was the DVD player did not work and the coffee pot was bad. We did have satellite tv and free WiFi. We will definitely be back!!!

We stayed in December. Beautiful house, cozy room, & delicious breakfast. I do need to mention that there are no amenities provided, so bring your own. It mentions this on the website, but of course i forgot, so we had no soap for our showers! I do think that soap should be available for guests. We had never heard of this before, so make a note for yourself when booking. Otherwise, we would recommend staying in this lovely home.

We absolutely loved staying at the Montana Cabin. It was perfect for 2 people (probably could fit 2 more people since there are 2 beds but would be for children). We enjoyed all the amenities the cabin had to offer and was very peaceful. We will stay back here again on our next weekend get away.

We had our family thanksgiving at the Chalet and what an awesome home. There were 13 and there was room for everyone. The entire 3 generations loved it! Our only negative comment was what the kitchen lacked, no mixer, no vegetable peeler! We had to go out and buy a mixer for our mashed potatoes for dinner. The property was awesome and exactly as described online. We spent a spectacular weekend with our children and grandchildren and all will remember the weekend with great memories. Everyone loved the home!

We had a decent stay. For the price the cabin met our expectations. There were a few issues with the Fox den cabin though. The wifi was not working correctly, it would allow our phones to connect but not our tablet's or laptop's. We also had quite a few large wasp's coming from the ceiling fan. The cabin had adequate amenities so it was not all bad.

The Dogwood Room @ Hyde House
Ellen, Cincinnati
Review Posted: Nov 15    Date of Visit: November
I loved my stay in Historic Nelsonville @ the Hyde House. It's a beautiful old home, clean and tastefully decorated. I stayed in the Dogwood room: bay windows, so lots of natural light, comfortable King-sized bed, chaise lounge, and clawfoot bathtub. All the little things had been thought of-- from the fleece throw on the chaise lounge, to extra basic toiletries. The breakfast Jennifer provided each morning was generous and delicious. She is a warm and thoughtful hostess, ready with suggestions of things to do and places to eat. I will choose to stay with her again, either at the Hyde House or in one of her cabin rentals.

Cabin was great - comfortsble , clean , well equipped and warm during a very chilly weekend . We enjoyed relaxing at the cabin - we were there to visit our daughter who is a student at Ohio University. Visited Hocking Hills Winery and had dinner at Nine Tables in the Plains - excellent meal ! Will consider returning another time maybe with grandkids . Management also very receptive to questions and any needs.

Historical Hyde house is a beautiful home. The owners Bernie and Jennifer are wonderful hosts. The home is very clean and decorated with an eclectic charm of antique and transitional flair. The breakfast they served was simple and delicious. The home is located right next to the town square so you are close to all the restaurants worth dining at. I would highly recommend this B&B and will be returning on my next visit.

The Montana is beautiful cabin. We felt at home when we were there. It was clean and tidy and I hope that we left it the same way for the next occupants. It was a nice, quiet and relaxing being tucked back in the woods. We have a friend who wants to inquire renting this cabin. I will relay your info to them. Thank you for the use/rental of this cabin!!!! We had a wonderful time celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in your cabin, along with visiting the caverns & trails. P.S. You might have a mouse inside the upstairs crawl space. We could hear something chewing inside the door. Thank You again!!! Walter & Jeannette Sobczyk

The cabin was nicely decorated and very clean. The beds were very comfortable. We had a nice stay however, their were some issues. The well water had an awful smell and you could smell it on your body after showering. The water coming into the showers was only slightly warm. We did realize that this was a new property and was told that they were getting city water soon. No air conditioning either. We told the rental agency about the problems. All they said was thanks for the feed back. No apology at all. Kinda disappointing. We were supplied with drinking water thank goodness.

Cozy Secluded Cabin

Review Posted: Sep 11    Date of Visit: September
My boyfriend & I were extremely happy with this quaint cozy beautiful little cabin. This cabin, by far, has been the nicest place we have ever rented before. I would highly recommend it to a couple or a set of couples. Decorated very nicely & extremely clean (& I'm a clean freak). The cabin had everything we needed & more. We booked through VRBO & the pictures were accurate & up to date. The description of the cabin was true as well. Be sure to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get up the hill. We luckily did. The website said "Only in the winter months" but I'm not so sure my little Camry would have made it up even in the summer months. The only improvement I would suggest is the fire pit area. The ring itself was nice but the area around it, not so much. There were mounds of dirt piled everywhere from digging a trench & was not cleaned up. That area needs some clean up & landscaping done. The hot tub was amazing & a great way to end a day of hiking. The little cabin was perfect for us & we will definitely be back again.

Hyde House was a surprise from the moment we walked in. it was beautifully decorated in turn of the century style; each room had its own color scheme with period antiques. It was really very cozy and inviting. The house was immaculately clean as were the bathrooms. Guests must pick up their keys at the General Store and enter on their own but that wasn't a problem per se, the house is stocked with everything you need. In the morning breakfast was delicious and the owner/ staff were present to check on our stay. We will definitely stay again.

Had a wonderful visit. We called ahead to say we would be late. No problem for Bernie and Sarah. Bernie met us at the Hyde House and made us feel welcome. After a long day in the car it was great to be treated so well. The house was clean and inviting. The Lilac Room accommodated my wife, grandson and me easily. Comfortable beds! Summer made delicious breakfasts Saturday and Sunday. Loved the "hidden dollar" search. Hocking Hills was an easy drive from the Hyde House. We hiked, saw caves, and zip-lined. I recommend this property and Hocking Hills to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay and outdoor adventures.

This was a great place to stay. Everything clean and nice. Tvs in every bedroom, not that they were needed. Lots of space and comfy befs and living room furniture. Only about 30 minutes via pretty backroads to get to Ash Cave. Only issue was only one hot tub jet working. Otherwise, all top notch. One suggestion: put luggage racks in each bedroom.

We rented the Chalet for our wedding weekend and it was the perfect choice for us. The property is gorgeous, although it may need a few landscaping updates, and there was an issue with ants, although in the woods that may just come with the territory. We kept our wedding small, so it held everyone on our guest list and let us spend the entire weekend celebrating instead of just an afternoon or evening. It was wonderful. The entire staff was so helpful and easy to work with!

What a wonderful way to spend time with family !The Chalet was beautiful with LOTS of room to roam . With 4 generations everybody found plenty to do ,not many fish in the pond but there are near by lake areas . Plenty of beds and baths for our group of 12.Very well equipped kitchen dining table is beautiful and huge . Gazing at the stars around the fire pit makes you realize how little you can see in the city .If you are looking for a place to just relax and enjoy nature this is the place to be . Cell service is sometimes iffy but to me that was a good thing ! Customer service is excellent very clean and plenty of games to play with Netflix available on main area tv .Be sure to visit Old Man's Cave , Ash Cave and try the train ride the "robbery " was terrific !

Large, Historic Victorian home (national registry) with about 5 lovely bedrooms prepared for guests- all with private baths. We were in the Dogwood Room, former master bedroom, and the bed and bathrooms were exceptionally spacious and nicely furnished. Comfortable bed. Enormous, hot breakfast, with fresh everything cooked by Jennifer, the owner. Enjoyed talking to some of the other guests in a family atmosphere. 20 minutes from Ohio University. 25 minutes from Hocking Hills State Park. Enjoyed the drive to the state park and forests on scenic byways. Probably THE most scenic area in Ohio.

We had two lovely brunches on the deck overlooking the two ponds. We were told the cabin would sleep 8, but there are only beds for 7. It would be best suited for two couples, possibly with one child each. The location is perfect for Nelsonville activities - just 5 miles on paved roads, yet very private.

Perfect Family Retreat

Review Posted: Jun 5    Date of Visit: May
My family I came to the area for a wedding and wanted a peaceful quaint place to visit and enjoy family time. The view from the back of the cottage is so lovely. The rolling hills, trees and pond were perfect back drop. My Grandson was taught how to fish on the pond which was priceless and we had bonfires and enjoyed the hot tub together. We played games in the kitchen, cooked and at bedtime we all had TV to relax to in our rooms. It was also nice to have a washing machine and dryer. Location was perfect for us but at least 15/20 minutes to just about anywhere you want to go but we typically went out once a day so no big deal. Do prepare yourself for limited cell phone service. While we were there we were able to connect to internet and get text messages but phone calls were really not an option which to me was more good than bad as we all need to disconnect more often.
